Articles carry a byline reflecting who created them: B-Real for first-person brand and culture pieces, and DGT Editorial for research-driven education content produced by our writing team.

AI-assisted drafting is part of our workflow for high-volume educational content. Human review is used for high-risk, flagged, sensitive, or editor-assigned drafts. For approved low-risk educational topics in our autonomous daily blog, content may publish only after passing automated safety, sourcing, and editorial-quality gates.

We do not publish raw AI output. Content either passes our approved safe-lane gates or is held for human review. Legal, regulatory, medical-adjacent, unsupported, thin, or repetitive drafts are not eligible for autonomous publication.

Every article starts with a defined topic and primary keyword. Our research process pulls from:

• Government sources: NIH, FDA, CDPH, state cannabis regulatory agencies
• Peer-reviewed research: PubMed, NCBI, and academic journals
• Industry publications: MJBizDaily, Cannabis Business Times
• First-hand knowledge: B-Real's 30+ years of experience in cannabis culture and business

Claims require a source. We don't publish claims we can't back up. If something is our opinion, we say so.

Our content pipeline includes automated safety, fact-check, and editorial-quality gates that flag:

• Medical claims (prohibited — see compliance section)
• Legal or regulatory topics that require human review
• Unverified statistics without cited sources
• Outdated legal information
• Brand claims that can't be substantiated
• Thin, generic, or repetitive writing

Articles that fail these gates are returned for revision or held for human review. Approved low-risk educational articles may publish only after passing the required gates.

We use AI writing assistance to produce educational cannabis content at scale. We disclose this because readers deserve to know.

What AI does in our process: drafts initial content based on research data, suggests structure, and flags potential compliance issues.

What humans do: set the editorial policy, maintain the safe lanes and review gates, review high-risk or flagged drafts, verify sensitive sources, and take responsibility for what gets published. When a human editor reviews an article, that reviewer's name and review date appear in the article byline.

Some low-risk educational articles may publish after automated policy, safety, and richness gates rather than a pre-publication human edit. AI-assisted content outside those lanes, or any content flagged by those gates, is not published until human review.

Our content never:

• Targets anyone under 21
• Suggest cannabis is safe during pregnancy or nursing

We correct factual errors as soon as we identify them. When a significant correction is made, we note it at the bottom of the affected article with the date. We don't quietly rewrite published content to conceal errors.
