Recreational Use in Louisiana

Recreational use is decriminalized in Louisiana but not fully legal.

Medical Cannabis in Louisiana

Medical cannabis is legal in Louisiana since 2015. Licensed dispensaries are operating.

Patients enrolled in the Louisiana program must meet state-specified qualifying conditions and obtain a registry card from the Louisiana Department of Health. Program rules cover possession amounts, caregiver designations, and reciprocity with out-of-state cards.

Home Cultivation

Home cultivation is not permitted in Louisiana.

Hemp-Derived CBD

CBD is legal in Louisiana. Hemp-derived CBD with THC at or below 0.3% is allowed.
