Recreational Use in Utah
Recreational use is not legal in Utah.
Medical Cannabis in Utah
Medical cannabis is legal in Utah since 2018. Licensed dispensaries are operating.
Patients enrolled in the Utah program must meet state-specified qualifying conditions and obtain a registry card from the Utah Department of Health. Program rules cover possession amounts, caregiver designations, and reciprocity with out-of-state cards.
Home Cultivation
Home cultivation is not permitted in Utah.
Hemp-Derived CBD
CBD is legal in Utah. Hemp-derived CBD with THC at or below 0.3% is allowed.
Hemp-derived CBD products with THC at or below 0.3% are federally legal under the 2018 Farm Bill. State rules add their own restrictions on labeling, lab testing, and retail. See the CBD page for Utah.
